Spectacle is proud to present (something as similar as possible to) the original director’s cut of a certain unnamed. May Day, folk-horror classic —complete with spliced-in VHS scenes of an infamous missing 7 minutes of footage — presented in a night for all senses by local electronic music purveyors and friends-of-the-theater STICE.
With the original negatives long buried under a major highway outside London, this version, among countless others that have called themselves definitive over the decades, represents the closest we may ever come to the director’s original vision of this seminal classic. No longer must we suffer under the tyranny of the sub-par Theatrical Cut being passed off as the real thing.
Buttressing the feature is a thematically-related short film “When We Remove The Fixation Then We Have Removed Ourselves With The Identifying”, free Scottish food for all attendees and a live musical performance of possibly medieval origin.
